From your experience how to get the most experience in GML? Implementing papers, trying to compete on benchmarks, writing something about the papers your read, or reading some papers related to an application and then trying to come up with something new (easy to say though!).
I started my masters this Jan and want to get into industry after completion.
I would say it depends on your needs. If you want to apply these skills in the industry, I would recommend learning coding neural networks and everything around that (debugging, monitoring, deploying, etc.); that would be useful regardless of the ML domain you will be working on. If you are specific about GML, then I would first identify the company where you want to work (for example, a biotech company) and would advance in learning how GML can help in that particular industry.
